After completion of your qualification with Horizon2 you will be able to work with children in a range of settings, supporting their wellbeing, learning and development. This nationally recognised Diploma enables you to supervise other staff and volunteers in the Children’s Services Sector in the role of:
- Early Childhood Educator
- Program Leader
- Nominated Supervisor

- Schools Age Care Educator
You will be able to plan, implement and manage programs in early childhood education and care (0-12 years) in accordance with national quality standards and duty of care requirements. Horizon2 has designed the course delivery with current industry practitioners, and leading experts from both the Early Childhood Education and Vocational Education and Training professions. This means that you have the opportunity to work with people knowledgeable in the sector and with up to date learning resources designed to support your success in the course and in the future.
Skills recognition could benefit you by recognising skills and knowledge gained from previous studies, informal training or experience gained at work and in everyday life. This may include:
• External Credit. If you have received a pass/competent result in the same or equivalent unit from another training organisation and it is part of the program you are enrolling in, you will get competency credits at no charge.
• RPL. If you have acquired relevant skills and knowledge as a result of work experience, life experience or previous informal training education you may be able to have these formally recognised. Please contact our student support team for more information.
There are no entry requirements, however we recognise that year 10 (or equivalent) schooling, employment experience or other qualifications will indicate your likely success in the program. Completion of the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care will also indicate you can achieve this qualification. The program requires proficient report and assignment writing ability, including critical thinking and referencing. Please note that students undertaking compulsory vocational placement in this course will be required to undergo the Working with Children check and apply for a Blue Card.
